The Learner's Kanji Dictionary,based on the acclaimed Kanji Dictionary, is a portable dictionary created specially for students of the Japanese language. This compact paperback edition provides the same radical system and multi-compound reference system as found in the Kanji Dictionary. An added feature is an index by stroke count, invaluable to all beginners.

This handy character dictionary includes 2,882 character entries and 12,073 compounds. The character entries are ordered according to the system of 79 Radicals. The dictionary contains information about writing, form, structure, etc. of each of the characters, as well as approximately 700 surnames and 600 given names. It is possible to lookup all the characters through an alphabetical pronunciation index.
